Introduction

A requirement that was born out of desperation. Stakeholder were using 3 different apps, one to track student admission, second to plan and deliver courses and third to conduct assesments. Each app's data format was incompateble with each other and required re-entering in each app. All three aps had bad usability, but the institution was forced to use them and show data to be audited and comply to goverment regulations. 

Objective

To build a wholistic app to run, capture, conduct assesments in accordance to goverment regulations.

Challenge

48,720 Questions required, twice Annually for 203 Assessments, and 60 Questions each 

And each of the questions needs to comply to, 1 of 5 frameworks, 1 of 3 outcome type, 1 of 7 question types.

They need go through three levels of quality and compatibiiity audit 

Conduct exams under maximum security and invigilation

Approach

Any task within the app to

• be supported with "contextual" guidelines

• have global settings to customise for different usage

• have atomated followup and notifications based on global planned timeline

• highly secure at a grannular level for each function based on level of permissions

• designed to be consistantly similar

• layout to have hierachical structure and wizad kind of interface that guide users to complete tasks

Conclusion

The strength of the sucessful solution lay in the UI. The UI was designed to be versatile enough to handle the preparation all kinds of questions. While creating, referance to the guidelines for compliance to framework is built in and readly available at a click away.

Stake-holders and users highly appretiated the simplicity and intutiveness of the solution.
